While running an errand up north just now, I saw an old hotel sign I wanted to snap a picture of, just off Milwaukee Ave. I ducked onto a side street to hack a U-ie and discovered something equally intriguing: this block of odd little boxy houses…
Quite a spectacle. Below are my Instagrams (and here’s some of the boys, which is why we went, after all…)

So naturally I took pictures of interesting truck logos…
(Forgive the poor shots. Click an image for a slideshow).
Not a trucking company but it was ON a truck:
BTW, I’ve done this before: here’s the motherlode if you can handle it…

Love this little process shot, too:

Yesterday mostly looked like this:
Though there were a few other POPular items:
And much excitement over nature’s own firework, the humble firefly:
And of course there was plenty of fooling around and eating:
All capped off by a rooftop view of the big fireworks from the surrounding neighborhoods:
Many more pics on Flickr.
…from moo.com arrived today. I think they might be some of the nicest cards I’ve ever had!

This time it’s from Gianni Rossi:
(Who is actually, still Steve Moore.)
I love my family. And I love that they gave me the some wonderful gifts for Father’s Day. But ironically, in the Hazen Household, both Father’s and Mother’s Day have become a day to celebrate the joy of being kid-free—some might call it “Me Time”, but let’s call a spade a spade, shall we?
Normally I celebrate by going out and shooting Chicago Type or buying used books. While I did a little of the latter today, my free time this weekend was mostly devoted to indulging my new pasttime. Below is my haul from two record shops: Beverly Records (much more about that place here) and 2nd Hand Tunes in Evanston, a good, solid record store.
